Chip LAN transformers - Eaton's common-mode choke coupled with auto-transformer
1:03
The Eaton Chip LAN Transformer series provide high speed filtering while reducing board space, weight, and component cost compared to traditional integrated LAN transformers. The CLCC1V is a common-mode choke in a 2012 footprint, while the CLCC2V is an auto-transformer with a 3216 footprint. When used together, they support data rates up to 2.5 gigabits per second, 4K video, and other high speed network applications. The components are made using an automated precision coil winding process that provides lower parasitic capacitance, improved filtering, and a 50 percent smaller area compared to integrated LAN transformers that are typically handmade and more costly. The CLCC series are magnetically shielded and can operate at up to 85 degrees Celsius. They’re designed for many ethernet applications with an RJ45 interface, including switches, routers, PC and industrial motherboards, network cameras, and more.
